You don't have to be an auto enthusiast to enjoy all that the Fourth Annual Telluride Festival of Cars and Colors will offer this September 27 to September 30, 2018. In fact, this multi-faceted world-class event has something for everyone - nature lovers, outdoor adventurists, culture vultures, history buffs, art lovers, foodies and more.
Nestled in the canyons of the Telluride mountains amid the panorama of dazzling fall colors, the Festival kicks off the first night with a "Taste The Mountain" tasting event and welcome reception in the Heritage Plaza of the Mountain Village with live music, appetizers and a cash bar.
From there the weekend revs up. Deemed one of the 2016 "Reader's Choice" 10 Best Car Events in USA Today, this event gives you a close look at top-flight restorations, vintage and international exotic vehicles and motorcycles all weekend long. A feast for the eyes is the Concours d'Elegance - a magnificent display of some of the world's finest vehicles set against the crimson and gold forests and mountain tops.
Then, it's time to get behind the wheel. Imagine a leisurely cruise along the Million Dollar Highway Rally in your favorite vehicle, driving a 240-mile loop thousands of feet in high altitude against the stunning backdrop of Colorado's flaming yellow aspens as you maneuver through hundreds of exhilarating turns and straightaways through the towns of Ridgway, Silverton, Durango and Rico. Additional events for enthusiasts are the Cool Cars on Colorado, car shows, the luxury airplanes at the Telluride Regional Airport Fly-In, the Morning Revv (a daily breakfast event) and the special evening events.
The Telluride Festival of Cars and Colors also has some pretty cool little happenings for every personality and member of the family. Enjoy fine art vendors, a daily Medallion Hunt for a special bronze medallion which ends in a $500 cash prize, the big Saturday night Hanger Party with live music, appetizers, a cash bar - all surrounding an exhibit of exotic cars and great vintage War Birds, of course.
