A Sneak Peek at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival 2020 Lineup

Added: Mar 19, 2020
Category: Telluride Festivals

If you’re a fan of bluegrass, Telluride’s 47th Bluegrass Festival is the place to be this summer.

Since the 1970s, this event has drawn many of the nation’s world-class singers, songwriters, and musicians who specialize in folk, country and bluegrass. Tickets have just gone on sale, and with a star-studded lineup featuring Alison Krauss, the Sam Bush Band, Punch Brothers, Greensky Bluegrass, Bela Fleck and more than 20 performers on the Main Stage (with more being added to the lineup), this four-day extravaganza is more than just a celebration of the genre of American roots music that developed in the 1940s in Appalachia.

Beyond the multi-stage events, festivarians will also enjoy family events, contests, and workshops such as the Elks Park workshops, a longstanding tradition of the Festival offering the bluegrass experience on a smaller, more intimate level with unique musical performances and musician collaborations, along with the Telluride Troubadour songwriting competition and Telluride Band Contest

With nearly 12,00 fans of the music converging on Telluride June 18- 21, 2020, it’s smart to secure your Telluride Bluegrass Festival tickets and lodging early. The event and nearly every lodging are expected to sell out for the weekend.

Getting here is not as hard as it seems. As our travel blog, “Now it’s even easier to fly to Telluride” attests, flying here from any part of the country is much easier now due to multiple carriers offering many nonstop flights to the four nearby airports. [Note: You will not be able to drive into or park on the streets of Telluride from Tuesday, June 16 through Sunday, June 21 unless you have a barricade pass, local county license plates, or a handicap sticker. If you do rent a car, you will most likely be directed to festival parking in Mountain Village. Parking is free!]

Staying here is also a snap with Silverstar Telluride. Our in-town homes are ideal for walking to the Town Park where the main stage is located, as well as to the Gondola and more than 60 restaurants and bars (both fine dining and casual dining) nearby. All of Silverstar Telluride’s condos, townhomes, and mountain lodges have five-star accommodations and are stocked with high-end amenities, so that after a long day or night at the Bluegrass Festival, you feel like you’re coming back “home,” not to a generic hotel room. Silverstar can also provide pre-arrival grocery shopping so that your vacation home is stocked with your favorite items upon arrival.

Stay tuned for additional artists to be announced on the Telluride Bluegrass Festival website.
