If you’re a fan of bluegrass, Telluride’s 47th Bluegrass Festival is the place to be this summer.
Since the 1970s, this event has drawn many of the nation’s world-class singers, songwriters, and musicians who specialize in folk, country and bluegrass. Tickets have just gone on sale, and with a star-studded lineup featuring Alison Krauss, the Sam Bush Band, Punch Brothers, Greensky Bluegrass, Bela Fleck and more than 20 performers on the Main Stage (with more being added to the lineup), this four-day extravaganza is more than just a celebration of the genre of American roots music that developed in the 1940s in Appalachia.
