With Telluride’s majestic mountain range as the backdrop, each of these festivals will inspire a mini vacation to Colorado in 2019. From film to rock n’ roll and brews to art and architecture, here is what’s rolling into Telluride’s festival lineup from spring to fall.
Mountainfilm
(May 24-27)
Great for: Artistic, literary, outdoorsy and film people
Kicking off Memorial Day weekend, after the charm and quiet of the off-season, Mountainfilm is a documentary film festival that wakes Telluride up for the spring by putting on a world-class event. Beyond thought-provoking and high-adventure films, the festival features talks and live presentations from visionary artists, leaders and filmmakers. It also transforms the town with art exhibits, free events, socials of all kinds (literary, artistic, coffee talk and Booze & Banters) as well as the Moving Mountains Symposium that explores a different issue every year.
Telluride Yoga Festival
(June 27-June 30)
Great for: beginning and advanced yoga practitioners, health and wellness crowd, spiritual and outdoorsy people
Jivamukti instructor Aubrey Hackman's vision for a yoga event in 2007 centered around the teachings of karma yoga. Every year since, the Telluride Yoga Festival has been drawing nearlyn1,000 people from all over the world to experience an intimate, authentic, world-class yoga festival while exploring Telluride’s stunning outdoor landscapes. This inspirational, four-day event features more than 100 offerings including yoga, meditation, music, hiking, dining, SUP yoga, social gatherings and more.
RIDE Festival
(July 12-14)
Great for: Die-hard rock fans, party people, outdoor concert goers
Celebrating its 8th year of live rock this summer, The RIDE Festival brings high-energy rock n’ roll to Telluride in the peak of summer. This year there will be headliners such as Widespread Panic and Big Head Todd & The Monsters. Drawing 8,000 fans, the festival turns the town into one big bar-hopping, music-worshipping, fun-loving scene with a line up each night that intersects folk, country and rock from major bands to emerging artists.
Art & Architecture Weekend
(July 20-21)
Great for: Artists, chefs, architects, designers
For the ultimate art and design experience, the Telluride Art & Architecture Weekend is one of the best places in the world for a home tour. Over the course of two days, people will get the chance to peek inside some of the most beautiful contemporary and historic homes in Telluride on a self-guided tour (via shuttle). There will be five different stops each day with art exhibits, performances, and food and cocktail tastings at each stop.
