Plenty of Green Spaces
The locals will tell you everyone is super-conscientious about cleaning up after their dogs, making for a harmonious environment for everyone to enjoy. Just off of Main Street is the Telluride Town Park, a great place to play a little Frisbee or catch. Gondola Plaza is another popular place to exercise dogs. Just beyond the Park is the Riverwalk, the walkway beside the San Miguel River—perfect for your dog to splash around in on a summer day. Doggie Transportation
One of the coolest experiences (and epic photo ops!) you can get with your pet is a free ride on the gondola, the public transportation between the Town of Telluride and the Mountain Village. Every third gondola cabin is designated pet-friendly (clearly marked) and apart from the epic views of the box canyon, your pooch may even make a fellow canine friend on the ride up. Well-behaved and leashed dogs are also welcome aboard the Galloping Goose, Telluride’s shuttle bus system that runs all throughout the town.
